A PATH-only provider’s CLI: on PATH, else in the folder its own installer uses (crate::backend::providers::known_install_paths), which may not be on this process’s PATH until AgentMux restarts.

A provider that takes its prompt on the command line (ProviderConfig::prompt_arg_flag) must run as the real executable: a .cmd/.bat wrapper is re-parsed by cmd.exe, where &, | or % in a prompt could turn into a command. For those the installer’s own executable comes first, and a script wrapper on PATH is never used.
