enum SendAction {
DeliverDirect {
was_active: bool,
},
BecomeSpawner {
own_seq: u64,
},
Queued,
Refused(String),
}Expand description
What decide_send_action determined a message’s fate should be —
see its own doc comment and PersistentInner::spawning_in_progress.
Variants§
DeliverDirect
The process is already running — deliver directly, no spawn
decision involved at all. The turn is already marked active: the
decision reserves it under the same inner acquisition, so an
automated send cannot see “idle” in the gap before the write (codex P1
on #3562). was_active is the pre-reservation state, for the caller
to start the heartbeat and to hand the turn back if the write fails.
BecomeSpawner
Nobody else is currently spawning — this caller claimed the
exclusive right to do so and its message has already been enqueued
for the post-spawn drain. own_seq is that enqueued message’s
QueuedMessage::seq, handed back so the caller can later tell
release_spawn_claim_and_drain_queue exactly which entry was its
own (issue #2365 — content matching could discard a different,
identical-text message instead).
Queued
Another caller is already spawning (or a retry-batch flush holds the drain claim — issue #2367) — this message has been enqueued for that claim-holder’s own drain to deliver.
Refused(String)
A kill is pending and the dying process still holds stdin: neither
written nor queued, reported to the sender as this error instead.
See decide_send_action.
