pub enum UserToolsPrecedence {
BeforeExisting,
AfterExisting,
}Expand description
Where the user tools dir goes relative to the existing PATH. The bundled dir always goes first: it is app-owned and version-locked, and a stale system copy shadowing it is the exit-130 trap (RETRO_BASHWRAP_STALE_BUNDLE_2026_06_13.md).
Variants§
BeforeExisting
Before the existing PATH. Agent CLIs: in task dev there is no
bundled dir and the wrapper lives in the user dir, so a system copy
must not win.
AfterExisting
After the existing PATH. Interactive shells: the user’s own system PATH wins for tools they installed via /tools.
