The CLI notices one ResolveCli call can put in its pane (backend::cli_notice, SPEC_LAUNCH_CONTEXT_WORKSPACE_RULE_AND_STARTUP_FILES_2026_09_30.md §6.3). A probe with no block_id (the picker, the Toolchain pane) puts nothing anywhere.

The agent being launched, when the caller says; else the pane’s agentId meta.

fn observe_version(&self, raw_version: &str)

Record the version this pane’s agent is about to run. Claude reports the version it actually runs in its own system/init frame, which covers every spawn path (persistent/stdout_reader.rs), so it is observed there and not here.
